The book focuses on characterization and applications of nanomaterials and other novel materials such as quantum materials and metal clusters. The first part reviews the characterization of materials such as graphite, graphene, silicon carbide, metal oxides and organic nanowires and -ribbons by spatially resolved spectroscopy across various wavelength regimes as well as electron transport measurements and charge dynamics. The second part deals with modeling and simulation of nanomaterials and their properties, leading over to the applications in sensing, energy generation and storage, organic electronics and nanomedicine. The last part gives an outlook on applications of nanomaterials in space science and technology.
