The book will be subdivided into three parts: (I) An introductory section that includes a brief overview of the scope of the book (written by the editors), and conceptual essays written by pioneers in the field, including discussion of the origins, importance, and future directions for BO/CS chemistries. (II) A section focused on the details of BO/CS chemistry, at the level of fundamental organic chemistry. These chapters are intended to be concise and cover the core chemistry and relevant methodology. (III) A section focused on the applications of BO/CS chemistry, particularly in the areas of chemical biology, biomaterials, and bioanalysis. These chapters are intended to be richly illustrated and highlight the capabilities and potential of BO/CS chemistry.
