The field of microring resonator research has seen tremendous growth over the past decade, with microring resonators now becoming a ubiquitous element in integrated photonics technology. Given the importance of the technology and the proliferation of new research papers on microring resonators in the literature, there is a need for a cohesive and comprehensive treatment of the subject that can serve both as an introductory guide for beginners as well as a reference source for more experienced researchers.
